How exactly do you install spigot to your 1.8.9 server

So for the past day i tried to create a spigot server.
I started by downloading the build tool spigot profile and then downloading the 1.8.9 spigot version however when i set the profile to build tool latest and the runnable jar to build tool latest i’m not able to start the server.
i also tried creating the build tool with git but i didnt know how to do it any further.
it would be really nice if someone could tell me how exactly do install spigot on your 1.8.9 server?

I poked around with Spigot recently and it’s a 4 step process. Download the buildtools Create your server Access the Spigot sidebar tab and copy the Minecraft server to the buildtools Set the Server Action jar file to the buildtools and the Java Profile to the Minecraft server you want to use.
