Hello, I have a question I would like to ask. I am new on this forum and I do not know if this topic has already been talked about. but here is my question: I was planning to make 2 servers for me and my friends and some people who would like to join. the servers would be: A 1.7.10 lord of the rings server with essentials and permissions and that kind of stuff. The second one would be a Immersive Railroading server on 1.12.2 wich will have (almost) the same plugins as the LOTR server. But I do not know how to get it to work and how I need to set it up. please help.
Hi.
You would need to create two minecraft servers in MineOS (or import two existing ones if you allready have servers running elsewhere)
The two servers may run at the same time, but each need a unique port number. Thi means that only one server can have the “official” (Standard) minecraft port, while the second need another port. Usually you just take one number higher than the standard port.
Unless you have access to your domain setup, you need to tell everyone using server 2 that they need to specify port. If youhave access to your DNS records you can set up a SRV record to specifiy port numbers by domain name.
Hello,
Thank you for your quick reply. I probably do not understand you but what I ment to say was that I want to run 2 seperate servers but I do not know how to get mods and plugins on the servers at the same time. Or you actually ment to tell me how to fix that but I do not really understand what you are trying to say. but from what I understand from what you say is that I need to have different ports. I can fix that by port forwarding (I think I did it in the past with a different server on this pc) so the ports are no problem. The problem is not being able to set up d\the servers with plugins and mods. And 1 more thing. I do not know details about Mineos and how it works bechause i am completely new to this. anyway thanks for trying to help me, I really appreciate it.
Are you trying to run the servers off your personal computer, a separate designated server computer you have, or a VPS?
