"No Profiles Are Available" issue

Hey,
After setting up my MineOS server on Ubuntu Server 20, I logged into the WebUI and went to go make a new server. I put in all the server options and name I wanted for it and hit “Create Server” I got left with a blank server list. I tried again thinking it was a bug but it still didn’t work. I tried restarting my server, doing updates on the server itself, then tried updating the WebUI. After that, I figured maybe if I leave it on overnight something will change. I tried again today and nothing. After looking around the WebUI page I found this error in the Profiles tab saying “ No Profiles Are Available; Check Internet Connectivity And Refresh The Profile List.” Even though I have a good connection to the internet. (tested using ping command)

Maybe this is related to why I can’t create servers?

Browse through this and try it

I went through that and their logs are completely different. Mine just spams the same thing over and over again

If you can open your developer console when you try to login.
See if any errors come up.
Check to see if your user name is in the top right corner.

In the MineOS WebUI? or through the Ubuntu server? because in MineOS there is no console unless I have a server and in Ubuntu server, I have no clue where to find that. I tried googling it but there’s no info on a dev console

Sorry. The developer console is part of the web browser’s dev tools. When at the login screen open the developer tools - which should show the console, then login and see if any errors (red entries) show in the console.

Here is the errors I get

Is that all?
Can you expand (the little arrow) the red entry to see a little more detail, though I expect that that is not the real issue.

Having same issue mine shows:

not sure what the error is but try
sudo chown -R root:root /usr/games/minecraft

This will ensure the owner of the minecraft code base is correct.

Please screen shot the UI with the top right hand corner drop down expanded.

/usr/games/minecraft is owned by root.

Can you also send us your mineos.log?

If you run the webui from terminal and access the site does it spit out an error?

In the cli navigate to /usr/games/minecraft and execute as root

node webui.js

gitcommet should have a version next to it and the drop down arrow should have the user account name next to it too.

In cases where there are any node module installation failures, the webui may show templating text, e.g., SERVER_OVERVIEW, CURRENTLY_SELECTED_SERVER, and the like. Though the positioning may be correct, it is also not showing any of the servers, load averages, or even the logged-in username.

probably just need to rest the webui.

I did that now my webui looks like this

run the webui from the cli as root.
then access the server from another computer, monitor the cli for errors.

Other then: systemctl status mineos

I don’t know how to monitor it, in the console on my web browser I get this:

Looks like your server isn’t responding- which is why I suggested to try running it from the command line.

node /usr/games/minecraft/webui.js

what node version are you running?
node --version
if it’s > 14 then you will need to downgrade to 14.
You may need to do a webui reset (whether you need to downgrade or not)

*** Oh I forgot you need to run as root/sudo.

sudo node /usr/games/minecraft/webui.js
