I have seen people installing java 8 then Forge 1.12.2 works just fine. I do this command to try to get java 8 install. apt install openjdk-8-jdk. But I get this error “E: Unable to locate package openjdk-8-jdk” I use MineOS debian base. Pease help
I have the same problem, I tried installing java from https://java.com/en/download/help/linux_x64_install.xml
When I do java -version I get
openjdk version “16” 2021-03-16
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 16+36-2231)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 16+36-2231, mixed mode, sharing)
But I find no java 16 folders in usr/java/
/usr/java# ls
jdk8u302-b08 jdk8u302-b08-jre jre1.8.0_301
