Anyone have any ideas on what the heck is going on?

Did you use This to install MineOS on your Ubuntu OS?

I remember running into this issue when I had forgotten a step when I reinstalled it.

When installing, it’s best to run all the install commands as root, starting/restarting it as root, then everything else with your normal user account. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve screwed up starting a new server when I copied the files over as root and attempt to start the server as mc. It breaks everytime.

Run as root:

cd /usr/games/minecraft
./reset_webui.sh

What is the output of this and /var/log/mineos.log?

I found the issue after going back through everything and reinstalling. When Installing I read every line and noticed that node was not the correct version and would not start. I was also forgetting something else. but thank you both for help. when trying to run the webui I noticed that it was broken becasue of node

@hexparrot question for you real fast, I started up a server, used worldpainter to paint the world, and rpelaced the regions, level and session files with the ones exported from World Paint.

Is this the best way to do it? It works but I dont know if It will break anything down the line. I assume its fine because Im just replacing the block files. but you might know more than me, I test locally first and then when enough changes are made and I am happy, Ill throw them on the server for my friends to give me feedback and look around

That’s a fine way to do it. If you were to try to edit the files over the network you may run into issues. Just remember to make backups before editing.
