Installing Crazy Craft 3.0 Server on FreeNAS 9.10

No Idea and not entirely sure you can u/l pictures here, sorry.

Clearly you understand Optifine is both client and server side required or you could not have made the shader SEUS work.

.zip and .jar are interchangeable however, sometimes a .zip is not read so a rename to .jar makes it work.

As above, Optifine is serverside.

To the root of the issue here. I hope not to offend Sir hexparrot or my good friend iMelsom who has helped me in the past with a tricky FireWorm problem and other problems:

Technically speaking this is all not supported by Minecraft and that means by default, Microsoft and as such can not be supported by MineOS with exception for “vanilla” servers. Great care was made to use OpenJDK instead of Oracle’s java. (I think MineOS could have indeed used Oracle’s Program as MineOS is in no way a commercial (for profit) product. Be that as it may:

The servers in the profile list supported here are by default “cracked” except “vanilla” servers because the only way to deploy, utilize, play or whatever you would like to call it are by default “cracked”. All of them FTB, Spigot, Bungeecord and Forge.

Any server set up with Forge and .jar files is a cracked server, any client set up to access mods and a forge server is also cracked.

I DO NOT want this types of profiles removed from the profile list EVER. But I will define what we are all doing here, like it or not. That brings us to:

Correct. I did not provide ASW with an official CrazyCraft3 server, all I did was strip out the CrazyCraft3 stuff and used the very same .jar files they use to create a new, seperate server. Call it “ASWKidsCraft1”, if you like.

That by default makes the question “Do we support .jar file servers here?” I have to say yes as Forge is integral to MineOS. And that by default questions this:

Give it to me, I’m a big boy, I can take it.

Very Best Regards,

tNt

I will also add the observation that I have never seen any other “thing” (Minecraft) used to instruct so many in the ways of programming.

I am saying that the mere existence of Mincraft has done more for motivating the younger generation into programming than any other “thing” I have witnessed.

Look at all those young bucks taking up and learning how to make the “mods”. I am in awe I tell you.

Never have I witnessed the like. And I will add MineOS’s contribution to that revolution.

Look at the all of the “old bucks” having to take up server ops and console commands as root, LOL.

When I claim “Sir” hexparrot, I am not joking.

Best Regards,

They are not cracked. All the servers that are not made by Mojang is made from ground up without any Mojang or Minecraft code. From the Minecraft wiki (Server software – Minecraft Wiki):

A custom server is a Minecraft server that uses no derived code or components from the original Minecraft Classic or Survival server software, thus they are 100% free of Mojang code and restrictions

Quite a lot of the not-vanilla servers share a common base code through open source sharing.

Fundamental disagreement.

And that is just fine.

I contend Mincraft is proprietary. iMelsom and Minecraft wiki (Official Mojang?) clearly do not.

If it is just fine to be playing Mincraft on a server that is not Mojang then why would Microsoft buy it? They would not. Further, if Microsoft owns Mojang and thus Minecraft then they own FTB, correct? No, they do not. Because FTB is not legal and there is nothing Microsoft can do about it. Ooops, watch them try at some point, I guess. And good luck to them trying to reighn in all of the cracked clients used to play on servers that are not Microsoft sanctioned.

This sharing was of stolen code. The only way I am wrong is if Mojang made Minecraft Open Source. They did not. If they would have, Microsoft would not now own it. It would have been stupid to buy it.

When I say ‘cracked’ server it is because I lack the proper terminology. Shall we say stolen instead?

What I am saying is that is is a good thing.

Microsoft would be in error to try to stop it.

MineOS would be in error to try to stop it.

It is the greatest code teaching tool that I have ever witnessed.

Huge to try to make it stop. Don’t do it. Support it at all costs!

In fact, I retract every thing I said here regarding cracked and stuff.

Setting up servers is legal. Making servers and making cash is legal.

Making custom clients to access custom servers is legal.

Microsoft made a bad investment as they can not control their property.

How dumb was that?

Recently to my possession came the ‘retail’ DOOM.

Included are all the tools required to build my own levels, bad guys, bosses, levels and goonies.

I hereby make my own servers to host my own levels created with the tools provided by Bethesda and will charge access to same with no renumeration to Bethesda whatsoever.

This is declared legal and I also will create my own Wiki declaring it so. That means it must be true.

As such I expect all support for same and within 5 years will be a millionaire due to the legality of my declared intention.

Please spare me. The argument falls flat on its own face. Butthurt and facehurt is severe. Damages to be negotiated.

If anybody was making illegal servers, Mojang and Microsoft would come down on them hard with DMCA’a and Takedown notices.

This actually happened to Bukkit, but it was an internal struggle and one of their own developers that declarde a DMCA Takedown: https://bukkit.org/threads/will-the-dmca-claim-expire.329041/#post-2940802. Oh and bukkit was actually bought by Mojang / Microsoft just before the DMCA…

Pocket Edition servers? Rumours have it that Mojang actually use the pockemine series of servers to test Pocket Edition internally in stead of the one they have available inhouse (wich aparently suck big time, and are NOT available to anyone else). Heh… Mojang even dropped realms for pocket edition for the time being.

As long as the servers provided do not containt any original code from Mojang/Microsoft they are legal. It is really easy for Mojang / Microsoft to close down on unofficial servers. All they have to do is to rewrite their code to not allow any other servers than the official ones. Or simply remove multiplayer entirely and just focus on realms in stead.

If you download a pirated version of the client it is illegal. I, for my part, use legal, bought clients, and have a mojang account.

There is nothing illegal about the unofficial servers out there. And Mojang has wuite clear guidelines for monetizing minecraft: https://account.mojang.com/documents/brand_guidelines

So unless you use a pirated copy of a minecraft client, there is nothing illegal, cracked, hacked or otherwise with any of the servers. No code is stolen from anyone. All of the unofficial servers have open git-hub accounts where you can both browse through and download their entire source code. They are required to do so to be open source. Mojangs source code is not legally available. It doesn’t need to, since the unofficial server do not need it.

For example: here you have source code for spigot, bungeecord, and other projects: https://github.com/SpigotMC

Oh and have you noticed that Mojang actually offers their vanilla server for free ? (https://minecraft.net/en/download/)

But this enitre discussion has derailed from its origin, and I’ll stop arguing about this now, and let you have your beliefs on this matter in peace.

The game itself is the original code, of course. You argue against yourself here.

Anyway you are correct below:

And yes:

I have noted that Microsoft considers the benefits outweigh the negatives in this regard. Educating as opposed to litigating. Powerful.

In fact you argue this yourself, exactly true:

Forge and .jar files are not Mojang/Microsoft and as such pirate by default. Sorry.

tNt

Then you can not log on to any .jar modified server as .jar and Forge servers are not Mojang/Microsoft.

Simple as that.

Love,

tNt

So help my man here, ASW. Instead of blowing him off because ‘we do not condone .jar files here’ nonsense.

Thanks and best regards,

tNt

Just to define what we are all about in the end.

And to be clear, I am relentless.

Forge is supported. .jar is supported. When old buck come around here looking to make a server for the kids?

Support them.

Full Stop.

Thanks and Best Regards,

tNt.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone happen to have a working Crazy Craft server they can archive and share with me? The link in this thread from @tNt appears to be throwing an error. Appreciate the support from everyone in the group.
Thanks!
