Hello guys, I recently installed the FreeNAS plugin called MineOS in order to setup a SkyFactory 2.5.2 server so I could play on my network and have it running all the time. But for the love of god I cannot get it to work. I downloaded the SkyFactory 2.5.2 Profile and made a server called SkyFactory, and did not change any of the settings when creating a server. I can easily create a 1.7.10 vanilla server, but cannot get the SkyFactory server to work. Here is the settings page. Please help me, I want to get this working as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.
SkyFactory server settings.
In order to help, we’ll need two things: The WebUI log from /var/log/mineos.log
as well as the log from /var/games/minecraft/servers/SkyFactory/logs/latest.log
or /var/games/minecraft/servers/SkyFactory/crashlogs/*
(the last/latest log).
Hi and thanks for the quick reply. I found the mineos.log file but cannot find the SkyFactory log. I searched through every folder and nothing.
i’ll also try to get a SkyFactory 2.5.2 server up.
if i can then will post it or give better instructions.
i will because this is the second “can’t do” something with the 2.5.2 version, take the challenge.
i hope my ftb launcher plays well together, lol.
news soon.
tNt
EDIT: note first is that by 2.5.0 is by default.
what is with everyone wanting unstable 2.5.2?
will not start, mineos log below shows 2 attempts at 18:11 and 18:15.
there is no log generated in the server as it never launched.
eula is true and the server is set as the OP’s, (see picture attachement in OP).
not sure what to make of it so i will now move along and try to get a 2.5.0 server running and install the 2.5.2 modpack to that.

more of the same with 2.5.0, dunno.
note that i had just upgraded the mineos commit before testing the ftb skyfactory mods.
will check with an old commit later:

success! i have a 2.5.0 server running on an old commit.
do not panic!
i did do something different and now must go back and test that procedure on the new commit to see if that makes it work.
stand by awhile, i’ll need to take a nap sometime, lol.
EDITS: success #2! i have a 2.5.0 server running on the new commit. so we know it is not the commit.
now moving on to test 2.5.2 on both new and old commits. stay tuned.
success #3! 2.5.2 is running on an old commit.
success #4 2.5.2 is running on the newest commit.
client launcher was a fail due to differing mod versions. clearly the mods being d/l’d for the client are newer that the mods in the 2.5.2 server. to settle this issue will be to settle the issue opened in the other skyfactory 2.5.2 thread the other day.
once resolved i can u/l an archive of a working 2.5.2 server.
Thanks tNt, very nice of you to test everything out in order to have it working…! I am on the edge of my seat waiting for that upload
Nuts!
i have a 1.36gb archive of a working 2.5.2 sever with mods matching my to my FTB Launcher 2.5.2.
AND it fails to connect saying “Fatally missing blocks and items”.
OK so never mind, I will u/l the archive anyway and someone might be able to figure out why the client can’t connect… link soon.
EDIT: had to trim it down to 933mb.
ok, so here is the 2.5.2 server archive, create a server and just put it in the ‘archive’ folder of your server and ‘import’ it. java i used was 512mb min and 3072mb max.
locate the d/l password box and enter test to d/l the file at this url:
http://berryred.info/uploader/ssd/download/1465841267.tgz
good luck!
tNt
test
that is the d/l pw… test
Hi again tNt, I made a server, put the file you .tgz in the archives of that server, then went to mineos>>selected the server>archives>Action: Create server from archives>put a name and done. 1st of all, how does your server page look like, like what do you have selected for Java runnable jar and the profile? Please let me know. Thanks.
that means -Xmx=3072mb and -Xms=512mb.
i tick ‘Broadcast to LAN’.
Profile is FTBPresentsSkyfactory25-2.5.2 and runnable jar is FTBServer-1.7.10-1614.jar.
good luck!
EDIT: hold on here…
i see the problem, i forgot you still need to have the correct data in the ‘profiles’ folder regardless, or you can not select the correct 'profile.
i had to modify that ‘root’ owned folder to get the server working.
let me u/l a seperate file with the folder that need to be u/l to the ‘profiles’ folder via SFTP as ‘root’.
to do that you must be very careful not to do anything e;se as ‘root’ or you can break your server, no big deal in this case as you will have all you need to make another. give some time to u/l that file.
sorry the delay in your server.
Sorry, you are saying sorry? really? lol
Dude, you are a fu**ing life savior, please DO NOT apologize to me again…! Thanks for the uploads and all the time you have taken to fix this problem…! Waiting for the upload…
just extract this folder (FTBPresentsSkyfactory25Server) and copy the whole folder (FTBPresentsSkyfactory25Server) as is, to the ‘profiles’ folder as ‘root’. this will give the correct profile and jarfile once selected, to start the server.
Edit: (forgot the link), http://berryred.info/uploader/ssd/download/1465867334.zip
or why don’t we crack this nut another way? i am trying it now:
create a whole new server, no profiles or anything.
d/l profile mojang 1.7.10 vanilla and run it. (start and then stop server).
d/l profile forge 1.7.10-1614.jar. select and run it. (start and then stop server).
u/l all the mods provided in the mods folder in my u/l’s. (extract it from the tar.gz or the .zip file and u/l as ‘mc’ or what you named as your ‘user’.)
add ‘mods’ folder as is to a 1.7.10 mojang minecraft client and log in as multiplayer with the ip as issued to your server.
it will be in effect a FTB SkyFactory 2.5.2 server.
testing it now.
EDIT 2 UPDATE: i was unable to d/l from the ‘profiles’ page; Forge 1.7.10-latest Forge Jar (build 1614) (forge) relaese download returns:
Download failed
Remote server did not return forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1614-installer.jar (status 404)
will now go to the forge website and d/l the 1614 installer. update later.
EDIT 3: http://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/net/minecraftforge/forge/index_1.7.10.html
d/l both 1.7.10 - 10.13.4.1614 installer for server side and installer-win for client side.
add as ‘mc’ or your ‘username’ to main 'server/(servername) folder and run it from MineOS. ie: /var/games/minecraft/servers/(servername)
1.7.10 - 10.13.4.1614 installer-win needs to be run in the minecraft client folder. ie: C:\Users(username)\AppData\Roaming.minecraft
Putting the folder in the profiles did NOT work, i made sure that the user is “root” and I just cannot see it when i click select profile. What is going on?
you have 2 seperate d/l’s and files right?
one is over 900mb that is the archive to be put in the archives folder and imported.
the 2nd is over 400mb and is to be extracted and that folder named FTBPresentsSkyfactory25Server to be placed in the ‘profiles’ folder as root.
you may neet to log out and log back in of MineOS and/or refresh the profiles and server at the top right corner of MineOS.
this above, did not work?
EDIT: also by defailt MineOS doesn’t allow root log in and has to be manually changed. Did you do this?
I did make it so that i could log in with winscp using SFTP, i log in as root. I cannot get it to work, I did
“the 2nd is over 400mb and is to be extracted and that folder named FTBPresentsSkyfactory25Server to be placed in the ‘profiles’ folder as root.”
and it did NOT show up to select it in the profile section. So, I named the folder underprofiles “FTBPresentsSkyfactory25-2.5.0” which is the name that the “original” profile has, and put the zip in there, and I can select the profile, but cannot select the runnable jar, it is empty. I have no idea what to do anymore.
above may be required.
i am not exactly sure why you did not see the correct jar as it is in the archive.
and don’t forget i am trying a different way to kill this cat.
so don’t give up yet!
best regards,
tNt
Thanks tNt, for everything you are doing…! I will try adding the stuffz and retrying. Keep me posted please. Peace out.
OK, so…I was able to get the server up and running, but when i try to log in, it says this (in the image).
