FreeBSD Installation Issues

I’m following the instructions to install MineOS under FreeBSD v13.1 (running on a TrueNAS v13.0-U3.1 server).

However when I try to install any of the following packages I get an error:

  • rdiff-backup
  • openjdk16-16.0.1+9.1 or linux-oracle-jdk18

The error I get is:
`pkg: No packages available to install matching ‘rdiff-backup’ have been found in the repositories

pkg: No packages available to install matching ‘openjdk16-16.0.1+9.1’ have been found in the repositories

pkg: No packages available to install matching ‘linux-oracle-jdk18’ have been found in the repositories`

I’ve tried looking at the forum, but could not see an answer to this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Jonathan

Looks like FreeBSD decided that they no longer wanted to carry rdiff-backup…?

It’s unexpected, because it wasn’t removed because of the version of FreeBSD, but it was removed from the repositories (which affects any version that depend on it).

Looks like the answer is building rdiff-backup from source, and download a binary Java from oracle or openjdk.

Thanks, might be a bit pass my skillset now, but will have a look.

Appreciated.

Jonathan
