Error connecting to server in browser

I just installed mine os server on kubuntu. mine os dashboard says “server is online”. I can get to mine os dash by navigating to 12.168.1.100:8080 see attached. navigationg to 192.168.1.100:25565 to access minecraft instance has firefox replying “the connection was interrupted while the page was loading. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.” I am using a browser on the server itself so it has nothing to do with port forwarding. I also ran Nmap and got this:
PORT STATE SERVICE
139/tcp open netbios-ssn
445/tcp open microsoft-ds
8080/tcp open http-proxy
so 25565 show as not open.

Ideas?

thx whoten

A minecraft client (not a Firefox browser) must connect to the server at the 25565 port. Try connecting using the game client itself and it will work, after you accept the eula.

In all likelihood it is because of the eula agreement required before the server starts, and the console is reporting exactly that; check your game logs.

Thanks for the tips… I remember accepting the eula at an earliler point in my adveture setting this up for my son. Once I opened the client and added the user to the whitelist it all worked like a charm.

Thanks again!
