Cannot input world files or plugins into server on file zilla (SOLVED)

Is there a way to login to root or to be able to put world files in with out getting permission denied?

Yes, the mc account should have permission to read/write/execute in the /var/games/minecraft directory.

how would a do that in debian im a bit of a linux noob

I use FileZilla on my PC to connect remotely to the server. Enter the server IP address, mc for the user id, and what ever you set for the password. This will operate like a dual-window folder explorer.
