Installed mineOS turnkey to bare metal laptop, fails connecting DHCP

I am not a complete linux noob, but I am a complete noob at running a server. I have installed mineOS turnkey on bare metal on an older gaming laptop which I had hoped to run as a dedicated minecraft server to play with a couple of friends and my girlfriend. It seems to have installed properly, but will not connect to DHCP. I am not sure what is going wrong. I followed the video where Will installed it on a virtual machine, is it so different to install it fresh on its own?

MrMatt,
During the install wizard, did you select DHCP?

This link shows the screen where this is selected during the install:

Yes, I had selected DHCP. Anyway I solved the problem. Turned out the ethernet cable I had chosen to connect to the laptop was bad… Definitely over thought that problem. Thanks for your help though!
