Can't get 1.18 pre to work

Is there a specific update we need to do to get 1.18 to work?
1.17.1 working fine and also the snapshot 21w44a But anything newer I try server wont start.

Newer versions need openjdk 17.x I believe. I’m not sure Buster has packages so it might need a TKL upgrade.
